DAY 1 OF THE ADVANCED SMT TRAINING PROGRAM BY JIT ASIA: SURFACE TREATMENT & PRECISION COATING TECHNOLOGIES

Training Sessions 01 & 02 – Surface Cleaning and Selective Dispensing Technologies Demonstrated Live

As Southeast Asia’s electronics manufacturing sector accelerates toward smarter, more automated production lines, staying current with the latest SMT technologies has become essential for every JV partner and distributor. That’s exactly the purpose behind the Advanced SMT Training Program by JIT Asia — a hands-on, technology-focused program designed to close the gap between theory and real production-floor application.

Day 1 of the program officially kicked off at the JIT Vietnam Office, bringing together Joint Venture (JV) partners and distributors from across Southeast Asia for the first two training sessions of the week. The focus of this opening day was on surface treatment and precision dispensing — two of the most critical stages in modern SMT production.

Training Session 01 – Surface Treatment & Cleaning Technologies

The day began with an in-depth look at two advanced surface cleaning solutions:

• Plasma Cleaning: An advanced surface treatment technology that ensures absolute adhesion for PCBs, effectively resolving common issues of poor adhesion and residual surface contaminants before coating or bonding.
• CO2 Cleaning (Dry Ice Cleaning): A solvent-free cleaning solution that is safe for operators and highly environmentally friendly, ideal for production lines requiring strict cleanliness standards without the use of chemical solvents.

Partners then moved into a hands-on practical session, operating both cleaning systems directly on the training floor under the guidance of JIT’s technical engineers.

Training Session 02 – Precision Coating & Automatic Screw Feeding

In the afternoon, the training shifted to precision dispensing and automated assembly technologies:

• 5-Axis Selective Dispensing: A 5-axis selective coating machine capable of ultra-precise positioning and dispensing down to the millimeter, even on the most complex board surfaces — solving the long-standing problem of slow, inconsistent manual coating.
• Auto Feeding – Pick & Place Screw: An automatic screw feeding system that optimizes operation speed, frees up manual labor from repetitive screwing tasks, and eliminates misaligned threads and precision errors on the line.

As with the morning session, partners closed out Day 1 with a full hands-on practice session, giving them direct operating experience with both machines.

By combining theoretical instruction with direct, hands-on machine operation, Day 1 of the Advanced SMT Training Program by JIT Asia ensured that every partner left not just informed, but genuinely equipped to apply these technologies within their own facilities. This practical approach reflects JIT Asia’s broader commitment: supporting partners not only with equipment, but with the knowledge and confidence needed to run more efficient, higher-quality production lines across the region.
