PVA Delta Therm : Powerful High-Precision IR Curing System for Advanced Electronics

PVA’s DeltaTherm utilizes infrared panels to efficiently cure adhesives and coatings in a controlled, heated environment. The DeltaTherm features a double-sided configuration available in 4’ and 8’ curing lengths. The DeltaTherm offers custom heat profiling in each two foot section. Each infrared, coated panel is constructed for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Description

🔥 Introduction & Key Features of PVA DeltaTherm

• DeltaTherm is not a coating/dispensing robot like the Delta 6 or Delta 8. It is an infrared heat-curing chamber, designed to dry, bake, and cure adhesives, coatings, potting materials, and other fluids after they have been dispensed or sprayed.

• The PVA DeltaTherm delivers fast, uniform infrared curing for coatings, adhesives, underfill, and potting with precise temperature control and inline conveyor integration

• The system uses infrared heating panels to deliver controlled thermal energy, ensuring proper curing of adhesives, coatings, underfill, potting compounds, conformal coatings, and more.

• DeltaTherm offers a double-sided heating configuration, meaning it can heat from both the top and bottom, ensuring even thermal distribution and reducing curing defects caused by uneven heat.

• The IR panels feature a special protective coating, making them durable and easy to clean, which simplifies maintenance and prolongs equipment life.

Main Advantages of DeltaTherm

Fast and uniform curing: Infrared heating with dual-sided configuration ensures even thermal distribution, helping adhesives and coatings cure uniformly without defects.

Optimized for high-volume production: Integrated conveyor makes DeltaTherm ideal for SMT, coating, or potting lines requiring continuous and stable throughput.

Highly flexible: Supports a wide range of board and pallet sizes (50–500 mm), fitting many industrial and electronic assemblies.

Compatible with multiple materials: Suitable for adhesives, epoxies, silicones, coating materials, potting compounds, and other heat-curing chemistries up to 260 °C.

Easy maintenance: IR panels are protected with a durable coating, making cleaning simple and extending operational lifespan.

Strong process control: PLC + SMEMA connectivity, precise temperature regulation, and independent thermal protection ensure industrial-grade reliability.

🔧 Common Applications

DeltaTherm is typically installed after coating, dispensing, or potting steps to provide heat curing. Common usage includes:

Curing conformal coatings on PCBs and electronic modules for moisture, dust, and environmental protection
Curing potting and encapsulation materials like epoxy or silicone for shock, vibration, and moisture resistance
Curing underfill, gasket material, sealants, and adhesives requiring controlled thermal curing
Curing thermal interface materials (TIM) that need heat to bond
High-volume electronics manufacturing, where conveyorized curing ensures consistent quality and efficiency

DeltaTherm often works as the final quality-ensuring stage after coating or dispensing robots like PVA Delta 6 or Delta 8.

📌 When DeltaTherm Is Recommended

Use DeltaTherm when:
• Your coating/dispensing/potting materials require thermal curing.
• You run a high-volume or continuous SMT/coating line needing stable throughput.
• You need precise thermal control to ensure product reliability.
• You want to reduce coating or adhesive defects and improve consistency.

📌 When DeltaTherm May Not Be Ideal

Avoid or reconsider if:
• You only produce small batches and don’t need industrial-level curing.
• Your materials cure at room temperature and do not require heat.
• You lack space or the ability to integrate the machine into a SMEMA-compatible line.
